  1.                 ROS 3.8 System File Edit Routines

  3. The two programs in this archive should help you maintain your 
  4. ROS 3.8 installation.  Neither program is well documented and 
  5. it's possible to enter out-of-range values that will cause them 
  6. to break, so PLEASE be careful and maintain backups just in case.
  7.  
  8. But, as long as you are careful with your data entry, you can 
  9. edit some important values.

  11. ============= STATS.COM =========================================
  12.  
  13. This program directly edits most fields held in the STATS.ROS 
  14. file:
  15.  
  16.   System initialization date
  17.   High user
  18.   High message
  19.   Average hourly system usage
  20.  
  21. The program will loop on the status display until you tell it you 
  22. want to edit hour "99".
  23.  
  24. ============= USER.COM ==========================================
  25.  
  26. This program is useful for changing the time limit of a selected 
  27. group of users.  For example, you find that your system is very 
  28. busy so you decide to cut everyone back 5 minutes.  This is the 
  29. tool to do the job.  It will ask three questions and then take 
  30. off: user access level, current time limit, new time limit.  
  31. After it's finished, it will tell you how many records were 
  32. actually changed.

  35. That's it.  Not much documentation, but then there's not much to 
  36. the programs.  Hope they help you with your system.
